Contemporary art curator and writer with a background in cultural analysis, Cristina is most interested in understanding how the world works the way it does. After curatorial studies in Amsterdam, she joined the Stedelijk Museum as a curator-in-training, working on solo shows by Maria Lassnig and Walid Raad (AICA Prize 2020). She’s also been an editor, researcher, cultural moderator, and occasional text whisperer, publishing in places like Third Text. Her curatorial interests orbit around de-colonial thinking and feminism, with a tendency to spark big questions in small rooms. In Bucharest, she directed Sector 1 Gallery (2021–24), navigating large-scale exhibitions with calm-in-the-storm precision. She co-founded Euxine. The Utopian Society, for re-imagining the Black Sea region, and joined the 2023 Art Encounters Biennial team. Cristina is also part of collectives like manybody and Sharing Food, Writing Recipes & Other Non-Apocalyptical Toolkits – which is exactly what we all dream of at the moment.

Independent curator, editor, and researcher, Monica explores collective and collaborative models of practice, often beyond the exhibition format. She weaves in social and intellectual capital into her work in contemporary art, with out-of-the-box thinking always on hand – and a broadcast-quality voice that makes us all want to make more podcasts. As part of the manybody collective, she builds storytelling frameworks shaped by poetic speculation, a bit of controlled chaos and a lot of thoughtful attention. In 2023, she co-curated the 5th Art Encounters Biennial, My Rhino Is Not A Myth, skillfully navigating tight schedules, sci-fi themes, and creative unknowns. In 2024, she launched and has been coordinating Șona AIR, a residency in rural Brașov for artists, writers, and researchers seeking refuge from everyday noise. Her current research focuses on radical care and hospitality in artistic residencies, especially in Romania and Eastern Europe. A believer in long-term and thought-through processes, she also champions creative pause and the confidence to push ideas into new territories.

Curator, independent researcher and non-stop writer, with a PhD on a break. Her research and curatorial practice often focus on fictions, aesthetic politics, speculative design and the socio-political threads of fashion and technology, with a current interest in eco-feminism and worldbuilding. How locality infiltrates the senses and can nurture imaginaries, is an aspect she constantly returns to. She’s been the co-founder of the curatorial collective Aici Acolo, activating unused/ unusual spaces in Cluj; and a fellow of Akademie Schloss Solitude addressing fashion fictions and everyday histories. As a follow-up she initiated Out of Stock, a one-time speculative journal for fashion and design grounded in eastern european sensibilities. She spent 2024 mostly between artistic research projects, in and out Cluj, Bucharest, and Paris for the Cité internationale des arts curatorial research residency. She is the co-ordinator and curator of Sharing Food, Writing Recipes & other non-apocalyptical toolkits, international summer school in Sulina (Danube Delta).

Curator, PhD student, a social-science researcher with a diploma in computer programming – a jack of all trades and master of none, focused on continuous learning and sharing her findings among her peers and the general art public. She became invested in the many-topic area of contemporary art while studying for her Political Science degree, researching on cultural institutions and regime changes. Cristina has previously defined herself as an archival scholar, a gallery art curator, Bucharest born-raised-educated, CESI alumni and a Maastricht Uni graduate, a long-time volunteer and a non-published poetry writer. She is currently more easily encountered in collective forms of collaboration and co-research, interested in cultural policies, philosophy, video-art and photography alongside the manybody collective, but also in the curatorial duo of FIASCO. Video art evenings with artist Larisa Crunțeanu. Ad-hoc book readings and lectures also feel familiar.
